Consisting of 14 phalanges in each foot (28 total) with numerous tendons, muscles, and ligaments, they play a pivotal role in activities like walking, running, and jumping. When our toes lack adequate mobility, they fail to provide the necessary leverage for the foot to propel the body forward. The foot then overcompensates, leading to misalignment and strain further up the body, all the way to our lumbar region.

From bunions to hammertoes, issues that restrict our toe mobility can be more than just cosmetic concerns. They directly affect how we distribute weight and how our foot interacts with the ground.

    In some cases, orthotic insoles or toe spacers can provide the necessary support or alignment correction, aiding in restoring optimal toe mobility.
  3. Walking Techniques :
    Believe it or not, many of us haven't mastered the art of walking. Adjusting our gait can ensure our toes engage correctly, alleviating undue stress off our spine.
